Team Leader (Assisted Living Facility)

Role summary:
Our client is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Team leader. Responsible for the day-to-day provision of high quality care for residents.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* To positively promote and follow the ethos and philosophy of the facility when carrying out all aspects of the role.
Residents:
* Responsible for ensuring the highest standard of care is provided for residents.
* Ensure a safe, secure and happy home for residents.
* Liaise with parents/carers, Healthcare professionals and Local Authorities as appropriate.
* Responsible for the effective induction of new residents and the effective management of residents who depart.
* Overall responsibility for ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed and that handovers are undertaken effectively.
* Responsible for providing high quality input into care plans for residents to ensure the care meets their needs and develops them as individuals.
* Overall responsibility for ensuring that the resident’s activities are being undertaken and their timetables are up-to-date.
* Overall responsibility for managing, ordering, stock control and safely dispensing all medication.
* Attend meetings with external agencies to ensure resident’s needs are being met.
* Responsible for co-ordinating resident’s holidays.
* Overall responsibility for ensuring that residents are provided with nutritious meals which uphold the ethos of the house.
* Undertake personal support for residents as necessary.
Staff Management:
* Responsible for the day-to-day management of staff to enable them to undertaken their roles to the highest standard.
* Undertake appraisals and supervisions for support workers.
* Work with the Workforce Coordinator to ensure safe staffing levels to ensure suitable staffing cover at all times.
* Responsible for managing annual leave and absence to ensure staff are deployed effectively to maintain staffing levels
* Provide a motivating and collaborative environment that promotes teamwork and open communication.
* Work with the Training Coordinator for staff induction and mentoring of new staff.
* Responsible for the identification of training needs for current staff to ensure staff are developed to their full potential.
Health and safety:
* Ensure that staff and residents are compliant with Health and Safety guidance at all times.
* Responsible for highlighting any concerns with the buildings and equipment used at the facility to ensure they are fit for purpose.
* Responsible for complying with the medication policy at all times.
* Proactively manage the identification of risk and ensure any risks are managed appropriately.
Other Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Overall responsibility for the safe and accurate management of monies held in the office.
* Attend meetings with colleagues and Senior Managers to enable the sharing of best practice across Living locations
* Responsible for ensuring that all accidents/incidents are reported and managed effectively and any lessons learnt are disseminated appropriately.
* To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all statutory, regulatory and organisational guidance in relation to the role.
* Participate in the ‘on call’ rota as appropriate.
* Any other duties as required.
The applicant must have the following: –
* Experience of working with and supporting adults with learning difficulties.
* Experience of managing staff.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Good time management and organisational skills.
* Good numeracy/literacy and IT skills.
Avantageous candidate qualities –
* NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care.
* A recognised management qualification.
* Experience of managing staff in a residential setting
