We are recruiting on behalf of a prominent leader in the financial industry, who is driving the digital transformation within their sector. They are currently seeking a skilled Social Media Analyst to join their Global Marketing team and play a pivotal role in enhancing their social media strategy on an international scale.

The Social Media Analyst will be instrumental in evaluating the performance of global social media initiatives (both paid and organic) and translating these insights into strategic actions. This role involves proactive and reactive social listening to gauge online discussions surrounding the client’s brand, business lines, and key initiatives. Additionally, the analyst will conduct competitive analyses to remain updated on trends and opportunities within the asset management social media landscape. Responsibilities also include monitoring and escalating comments and messages for prompt responses and managing social media governance in collaboration with legal and compliance teams.

The successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Analyse social media performance (both paid and organic), utilising internal tagging, setting benchmarks, and extracting actionable insights.
  • Conduct proactive and reactive social listening to understand online conversations about the client’s global brand.
  • Perform competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with compliance and act as a liaison across departments to ensure all social media activities meet regulatory guidelines, with proper communication and archiving of policies.
  • Oversee social media administration, including account security, governance for authorised posters, third-party tool connections, and handle management.
  • Monitor and escalate incoming comments and direct messages for timely and appropriate responses.
  • Track social accounts of corporate partners to ensure proper engagement.
  • Create social media security and risk mitigation strategies, defining key decision-makers and establishing approval workflows.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications to develop crisis management plans.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in social media within a highly regulated industry, focusing on governance and analytics reporting.
  • Preferred background in financial services marketing with a strong understanding of the industry.
  • Previous experience using LinkedIn, Meta, Twitter/X, Sprout Social, Hearsay, and Datorama metrics dashboards preferred, but not essential
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage team activities to meet objectives.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in creating social listening reports using Boolean logic.
