Job Description:

 

Fantastic opportunity for a strong Commercial Contracts Counsel to join the legal function of a leading Global Asset Manager. The legal function is a strong dynamic team that develops innovative solutions to legal challenges in a highly regulated environment

 

In the role you will provide strategic legal support to the investment teams across the UK, Europe and the Middle East as well as support new product developments.

 

Role Responsibilities:

 

  • Drafting negotiating, and advising on, a broad range of service contracts, including fund accounting and investment analytics agreements and complex middle office and data service outsourcing contracts for a variety of clients including asset managers, official institutions and insurance companies.
  • To build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advising on the legal implications of regulations applicable to the business services and operations.
  • Supporting new business development initiatives, including negotiating and drafting heads of terms documents.
  • Liaising with Heads of Departments and senior stakeholders across legal, business, risk and compliance to drive outcomes that meet the requirements, priorities and deadlines of the business
  • Support the business with new products and business developments, including the expansion of services into new jurisdictions.
  • Collaborating with external lawyers in other business lines and jurisdictions.
  • Managing external counsel from time to time.
  • Assisting with project delivery on occasion.

 

 

Qualifications and Skills Required:

 

  • Qualified Lawyer or similar qualification.
  • At least 4 years of relevant post-qualification experience as a rough guide.
  • Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to formulate legal advice clearly and concisely in a commercial environment.
  • Prior experience working in-house within Financial Services or a secondment would be beneficial for this role.
  • Outsourcing experience would be beneficial for this opportunity.
  • Solution-oriented, capable of working through complex issues with multiple stakeholders and proposing workable solutions within tight deadlines.
  • Quick learner and team player with a proactive 'can do' approach.
  • Ability to build good relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
