We are supporting our client, a Lloyd’s broker, in their search for a Senior Underwriter, to join the business in their amazing Manchester offices on a full-time, flexible hybrid basis. Working on average 3 days a week in the office and 2 days at home, you will be utilising your experience in Property & Casualty/Technical underwriting, to cover matters across a variety of areas.

In this role, you will be primarily responsible for reviewing large, complex or specialist cases. The role is not limited to supervision as you will be expected to provide technical expertise and guidance to less experienced underwriting staff.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
 

  • Support the Technical Underwriting and Pricing team to providing guidance to the production of new policy wordings to ensure policy documentation is current and accurate
  • Liaise with Account manager and Operations Manager and assist with the implementation of new initiatives, processes, and procedures.
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure collaboration and services levels are maintained to high standards
  • Effectively negotiate and deliver underwriting decisions through following agreed processes at designated authority levels, adhering to our regulatory framework at all times.
  • Working with underwriting team and providing support to junior members.

The right candidate for this role will have an in depth understanding of the insurance market. The client requires an individual with a high level of proficiency in underwriting property and casualty.

This role requires an individual to have demonstrated knowledge of local markets and to have advanced expertise in evaluating insurance policies.
