Renowned International Agricultural Distributors seeking a Risk Manager to join their small and dynamic team in London.
Key Responsibilities
The principal components of the role are supporting the CFO overseeing and managing the team of risk analyst/s in assessing customer creditworthiness, recommending and monitoring counterparty credit limits, managing exposures, assisting with negotiations of trade documentation, managing credit projects and developing relationships with internal stakeholders (Legal, Accounts, IT…) as well as with the Group subsidiaries abroad,
Reporting directly into CFO you will work closely with the business and stakeholders to ensure that:
- Risks are identified, assessed, managed and reported effectively;
- An appropriate control framework is in place;
- Adequate training and information sharing both within the team and across subsidiaries
Being responsible for the team and ensuring KPIs and KAIs set out for key risk indicators are met:
- Credit assessment – analyzing credit worthiness and KYC status of customers across Group in order to recommend appropriate credit limits and managing credit support where necessary.
- Regular renewal and continuous monitoring of customer status.
- Credit reporting and control – monitoring credit exposure and risk measures and anticipation and management of breaches and exceptions.
- Pro-actively assessing exposure and the impact of potential transactions to provide an advisory role to subsidiaries.
- Operational risk management
- Monitoring of Group Inventory in accordance with internal policy.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance of forex policies
- Support in preparation of Group annual business plan for risk management related issues.
- Coordination with internal stakeholders – being a professional business partner to subsidiaries and communicating sound credit opinions in a convincing, understandable and concise manner. Ability to find innovative solutions which address risk reduction whilst responding to commercial requirements.
- Providing support to subsidiaries and business teams when credit issues require involvement with other internal departments. Finally, being able to react quickly to business opportunities.
- Ensuring Annual renewal of Insurance policies requiring coordination with other offices and departments in a timely manner.
Skills/ Experience Required
- Good understanding of the key elements of Credit Risk Management with credit and exposure assessment. (Background and experience in internal control and internal audit would be desirable.)
- 5-7 years relevant experience within Financial Services.
- Broad Risk & Governance experience desirable (Operational risk, counterparty risk, market risk)
- Willing to work independently as well as managing a team.
- Must be a clear communicator, both written and verbal.
- Self starter happy to get involved in a broad range of activities
