We are recruiting on behalf of a leading firm in the investment management sector, who over the past 20 years have dedicated itself to achieving strong growth and high standards in their investment performance. They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Consultant Relations Director to join the business to continue their ambitious business objectives.
The successful candidate will be involved in:
- Establish and nurture relationships with key personnel within investment consultancy firms, including research staff
- Obtain and sustain “Buy” ratings for specific products from selected investment consultants
- Support the Institutional Business team in achieving significant revenue inflows from prioritised products
- Play a key role in driving substantial revenue growth from the institutional sector, meeting the sales targets set for the division
- Participate in the formulation and execution of the consultants' sales plan, including presentations on both regional and international levels
- Act as the primary relationship manager for designated consultant firms
- Attend industry conferences and host corporate events as necessary
- Oversee investment and corporate research activities involving consultants
- Assist in the creation of consultant information packs
- Document meeting notes from consultant interactions and manage follow-up actions
- Foster strong and effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, including fund managers, product specialists, client directors, and department heads
- Uphold and contribute to a robust compliance and risk management culture within the department
- Take on a mentorship role within the broader Institutional Business team
The successful candidate will have:
- In-depth knowledge of the institutional marketplace, including Defined Benefit (DB), Defined Contribution (DC), and insurance sectors
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate and manage consultant relationships at various levels
- Strong understanding of investment management principles and practices, with the ability to communicate them effectively
- Expertise in managing the new business process, including overseeing RFPs, pre-pitch preparation, pitch support, and follow-up activities
- Extensive experience working within the institutional marketplace
- Ability to produce and manage management information (MI) related to consultant activities, including data on new business
