They are currently wanting to hire a Speaker Coordinator on a 12 month maternity cover contract. In this position, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in coordinating speaker requests and supporting the overall planning and execution of high-profile events. Working closely with senior executives and distribution channels, you’ll ensure that every event runs smoothly, providing essential support to the Event Management team in key areas such as speaker logistics, event planning, and technical support.
The successful candidate will be involved in:
- Act as the primary liaison between the Investment team and distribution channels, managing all speaker requests for meetings and ensuring seamless communication between parties.
- Use the company’s internal systems to track, manage, and update stakeholders on the status of speaker requests.
- Assist in planning internal and external events by helping with venue research, coordinating catering services, and managing audiovisual requirements.
- Oversee event logistics, such as setting budgets, gathering required documents, and providing on-site assistance when necessary.
- Help with the development and maintenance of event registration platforms, create reports, and offer technical support for virtual and in-person events.
- Develop expertise in event management software (e.g., Cvent) and virtual event platforms to facilitate smooth event execution and technical operations.
- Provide administrative support to the Event Management team, such as preparing PowerPoint presentations, managing documents, and assisting with general event-related tasks.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in event planning or the hospitality industry, preferably within financial services
- Familiarity with event registration platforms like Cvent and virtual event tools is an advantage
- Strong attention to detail, the ability to stay calm under pressure, and excellent time management skills
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to build strong professional relationships.
