Reinsurance Claims Adjuster Role
Due to a recent internal promotion – Our Client, a prominent leader in the insurance and reinsurance global markets, is seeking a Reinsurance Claims Adjuster. This role is pivotal in managing both standard and complex reinsurance claims from initial notification through to settlement.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for proactively adjusting a variety of standard and complex lead claims within their authority limits, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and regulatory requirements. You will need to monitor potential claims, from individual risks to global events, and ensure that adequate reserving is in place.
Additionally, you will review and analyze the profitability of reinsurance accounts, providing insights and identifying underperforming areas to underwriters, actuaries, and management.
Regularly managing and reviewing claims through effective diary management to ensure timely resolution will be a critical part of your role. Delivering excellent claims service to all customers by driving claims to resolution efficiently and effectively is essential. Maintaining proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders, including cedants, brokers, underwriters, actuaries, and senior management.
An integral part of the role will be acting as a referral point and mentor for Junior Claims Adjusters assisting in their training and development and independently conducting cedant audits. Our client are in a growth phase in this are – changes and improvements within the claims handling process, and your continuous search for process enhancements will be highly valued.
Essential Skills & Experience:
What will the successful candidate look like? Extensive experience in handling reinsurance claims, ideally in a lead capacity, with a strong background in reviewing and assessing policy coverage. Building solid relationships with clients and demonstrating strong client management skills are crucial. Understanding and applying legal and regulatory issues relevant to reinsurance claims is necessary, as is having high technical competency.
