Our client, one of the most desirable, market leading Insurers in the market is seeking an experienced Property Underwriter to join their DA Property team – located in the London office, reporting to the Group Head of DA Property.

In this role, you will ensure the underwriting of quality Delegated Property business in line with their Underwriting appetite, ensuring a profitable book & nurturing long standing relationships with brokers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwriting new and renewal property binders within your authority limits, referring to senior management as needed.
  • Managing property binders, including performance reviews, claims trends, and conducting regular audits and underwriter visits.
  • Servicing and amending existing contracts according to our underwriting philosophy.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with coverholders and brokers to secure new business.
  • Reviewing rate structures, underwriting guides, and policy wordings to ensure their suitability.
  • Providing data and reports for meetings and business plans.

 

Key Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of international commercial property, homeowners, and high-value home insurance.
  • Knowledge of FCA/PRA, Lloyd’s regulations, underwriting principles, and legal guidelines.
  • Familiarity with the Lloyd’s insurance market.
