Our client, a leading MGA and Lloyd’s Syndicate, is well-established in the international market, specializing in innovative risk solutions across Large Scale Disasters, Man-Made Perils, Agriculture & Farming, and Weather risks. They are looking for an experienced Parametric Underwriting Lead to spearhead their parametric products and drive international growth.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will lead the parametric underwriting function, focusing on innovative risk transfer solutions. Key responsibilities include underwriting parametric policies for large-scale disasters, agricultural losses, weather events, and man-made perils. The role involves leading a team, collaborating with brokers and actuaries, and strengthening relationships with key market players.
Key Responsibilities:
The Parametric Underwriting Lead will oversee the development and execution of parametric products, focusing on innovative solutions for large-scale disasters, agriculture, weather events, and man-made perils. They will manage risk selection, pricing, and policy structuring, working closely with actuarial teams to incorporate advanced data models. Building strong relationships with brokers, clients, and reinsurers, the Lead will ensure regulatory compliance and drive profitable growth. They will also mentor junior underwriters, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
Key Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in parametric underwriting, particularly within the Lloyd’s market, with expertise in disaster, agriculture, and weather risks. A solid understanding of parametric models, risk analysis, and data-driven underwriting is crucial. Strong relationship-building skills, commercial acumen, and a track record of broker engagement are essential, as is familiarity with Lloyd’s regulations. Leadership experience and relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ACII, CPCU) are preferred.
