Execution focused Subsidiary of Renowned Banking Group seeking an Operational Risk Analyst to join their London office.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct, review & challenge performance of the Risk & Control Self-Assessment by the 1st line
- Oversee the firm's risk register (s), key risk indicators and operational loss events including review of loss events for operational weakness via root cause analysis
- Assess the effectiveness of the businesses control environment and adherence to policies & procedures through risk assurance reviews and control assurance testing
- Review & challenge business & support functions processes and controls
- Produce Operational Risk management information for the Risk & Compliance committee, highlighting material topics/key themes requiring escalation
- Provide ad-hoc support to the 1st line of operational risk topics where appropriate
- Engage and assist in key risk projects, such as Operational Resilience, Cyber resilience
- Remain up to date with regulatory obligations impacting the Company risk appetite and its regulatory responsibilities in respect of operational risk
- Develop strong positive working relationships with other departments
- Support the delivery of the ICARA
- Maintain and update the firm’s risk appetite statements to stay compliant with the latest regulatory changes and meet Group’s expectations
Skills/ Experience Required
Must have
- 2+ years’ experience in Operational / Non-Financial Risk Management eith first or second line
- Experience working in financial services with exposure to trading, technology or operations
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to engage with a variety of stakeholder
Desirable
- Assurance experience gained through internal audit or controls/process reviews
- Regulatory knowledge and experience of FCA rules and practical application
- Good presentation skills and experience producing management information
- Good Excel / IT skills and competent at working with large volumes of data
- Experience using a Governance Risk and Control System
