Senior Reinsurance Wordings Specialist
Are you an experienced wordings professional with a knack for solving complex contract challenges? If so, we have an exceptional opportunity for you to step into a senior role with a highly respected Lloyd’s syndicate & International Insurer.
In this role, you’ll lead on crafting and negotiating inwards treaty reinsurance and retrocession contract wordings across diverse lines of business. Working closely with underwriters, brokers, and clients, you’ll ensure every agreement reflects the underwriting intent, aligns with strategy, and adheres to regulatory and legal requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Take ownership of inwards treaty reinsurance wordings, promoting consistency across products and platforms.
- Develop and deliver best-practice guidance and minimum standards, empowering underwriters and enhancing contract clarity.
- Research and respond to emerging legal and market developments, shaping contract language to stay ahead.
- Mentor junior team members and deliver workshops, training, and presentations to share your expertise.
- Engage with market bodies, peers, and stakeholders to influence industry standards and build robust networks.
- Support process improvements and explore innovative technologies to streamline workflows and contract review.
What We’re Looking For
- Extensive contract wordings experience, ideally within a (re)insurance company, broking, or legal environment.
- Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and commercial awareness to balance technical precision with business needs.
- A proactive, flexible, and collaborative mindset with excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- An enthusiasm for innovation and the ability to handle deadlines with ease during peak renewal periods.
