We are currently recruiting for a Sous Chef to join an established team at one of our sites based in the heart of Bristol city centre.
Our client is a well-known hotel chain, boasting over 1,000 hotels worldwide. This site offers a successful and busy on-site gastropub style restaurant.
This role would be 40hrs per week, working on a rota basis. Shift pattern would include 2 breakfast shifts and 3 evening shifts per week. This is a permanent position, under direct contract with the client. Breakfast shifts start at 5:30am, evening shifts tend to finish around 10:30pm. Because of this, reliable transport is a must for this role, drivers or within walking/cycling distance of BS1 preferred.
The hotel boasts nearly 200 rooms and so breakfast in particular can be very high volume. The ability to work at such levels is essential to the role. As well as the restaurant evening service, the hotel hosts catered meetings and events for which you and the kitchen team would deliver. The restaurant itself is British gastropub style cuisine. For meetings and events, you can expect to deliver a wide range of food styles.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and skilled Sous Chef to integrate into the existing kitchen team, meeting set standards and objectives.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
– Be responsible, dedicated and a strong leader with the ability to work with, and manage, a small kitchen team
– Be able to listen and follow Head Chef orders diligently
– Be able to train and develop your team supportively and professionally
– Deliver consistent food standards following the company brand standards
– Attention to detail and pride in your work
– Strong communication skills
– A passion for delivering outstanding food
