Our Client, an award-winning Global underwriting group & Syndicate, is seeking a dynamic Product Lead to guide and manage portfolio responsibilities for a broad range of lines including Long Tail D&F and Treaty classes such as Liability (Predominately Transactional Liability), Financial & Professional Lines, Casualty. The role involves collaborating with the Active Underwriter to develop underwriting strategies, navigate market conditions, and ensure profitable performance. The Product Lead/The Head of Long-tail Underwriting will also be a key contact for external partners, contributing to the formulation of business plans and supporting regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities will Include:·
-Recommend underwriting appetite and strategy across all classes within scope.
-Actively participate in Governance and Oversight, including setting Underwriting Authorities and overseeing peer review outputs.
-Manage underwriting discipline, performance, and act as a key contact for external partners.
-Contribute to the development of business plans for Long-tail classes.
-Oversee underwriting standards, drive quality, and balance capital utilization.
-Monitor accumulations and provide recommendations on reinsurance protection.
-Contribute to staff training and development, ensuring class knowledge is up-to-date.
The ideal candidate should have prior experience in underwriting management and oversight, along with a proven track record in navigating Lloyd’s planning, governance, reporting, and oversight.
