A leading international insurer is seeking an experienced Senior Real Estate Underwriter to take ownership of their growing Real Estate portfolio. About the Role
The Senior Real Estate Underwriter will play a key role in underwriting and managing a diverse portfolio of Real Estate risks, collaborating with brokers and internal teams to provide innovative and tailored insurance solutions. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background, excellent market relationships, and a proven ability to deliver profitable growth in the Real Estate sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite a wide range of Real Estate risks, ensuring alignment with underwriting guidelines and profitability targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and stakeholders, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Lead discussions with brokers to develop bespoke insurance solutions for complex risks.
- Contribute to the development of underwriting strategies, pricing models, and new product initiatives.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities for growth.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters, supporting their development and performance.
- Represent the business at industry events, broker meetings, and client presentations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Significant experience as a Real Estate Underwriter, ideally within the London Market or an international insurer.
- A deep technical understanding of Real Estate risks, with the ability to analyze and assess complex cases.
- Established broker relationships within the Real Estate sector, with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic mindset and a proven track record of delivering profitable underwriting results.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional service to clients.
